Kalahari TIF

Mullin & Lonergan Associates in 2014 assisted the Monroe County Industrial Development Authority and Kalahari structure a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district the first phase of a three phase, $500,000,000 development in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania. The TIF provided $26,000,000 in financing to be used for infrastructure costs associated with the first phase of the development. The first phase cost $236,000,000 and featured the construction of 457 hotel rooms, 2,500 parking spaces, and the on-site restaurants, Conference Center and Waterpark Arena. The remaining two phases were projected to be around $300,000,000 in total development costs. Through this TIF and the development it helped get off the ground, the participating taxing bodies will see almost $80,000,000 in additional tax revenues over the life of the TIF.
